How Food Access Programs work at Farmers Markets!
If you get SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits on your Washington Quest EBT Card, you can shop at authorized farmer markets. Look for a farmers markets with the Quest logo next to its name in the Directory. To shop at farmers markets:
» GO to the Farmers Market Information Booth.
» SWIPE your SNAP card and receive tokens.
» SPEND tokens on any SNAP-eligible food, including fresh produce, bread, dairy, jams, meat, poultry, fish, nuts, mushrooms, and other food staples.
» SNAP tokens do not expire.

New! Summer EBT is now called SUN Bucks. Most eligible children will automatically receive $120 on a dedicated SUN Bucks EBT card mailed directly to their home this summer. Once activated, SUN Bucks can be used at farmers markets just like SNAP EBT.
» ACTIVATE the SUN Bucks card before coming to the market or use the ebtEDGE app at the market.
» SWIPE your SUN Bucks card at the market’s Info Booth and get tokens to buy SNAP eligible foods.
» MATCH your SUN Bucks up to $25 a day extra in “SNAP Market Match” for fresh fruits and vegetables (at participating markets only).
» SHOP for eligible food items within 122 days of benefits being added to your card.

SNAP Market Match gives shoppers who use SNAP EBT or SUN Bucks extra benefits or a “match” to spend on fresh fruits, vegetables, and veggie plant starts. To know if a farmers markets offers SNAP Market Match, look for the SNAP Market Match logo next to the farmers market name in the Directory. To shop at farmers markets:
» SWIPE your SNAP EBT card or SUN Bucks card at the market’s Information Booth.
» RECEIVE $1 for every $1 in SNAP EBT and SUN Bucks, usually up to $25 per day.
» SPEND SNAP Market Match on fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, mushrooms, seeds, and edible plants.
» SNAP Market Match expires on Dec. 31, 2024.
The Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) provides benefits to participants in Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and low-income Seniors so they can buy more fruits and vegetables at farmers markets. Anyone with WIC can request FMNP benefits which are from $30 to $90. Seniors get $80 and can sign up with their local senior center or Area Agency on Aging in your area.
» RECEIVE WIC or Senior FMNP benefits are now electronic. Participants get a special QR code on a card or by using the WICShopper or Senior FMNP app.
» SHOP for fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Seniors can also buy honey.
» WIC & Senior FMNP can be used June 1 to Oct. 31.
» New in 2023, all WIC participants can use “WIC Fruit and Vegetable Benefits” at all farmers markets vendors that accept FMNP. Prior to 2023, these benefits could only be used at grocery stores.
