The annual WSFMA Farmers Market Conference brings together 200 farmers market managers, board members, volunteers, vendors, and partners from across Washington and the Pacific Northwest so that farmers markets will continue to thrive new challenges and opportunities.
Farmers markets are important community centers that bring healthy foods into cities and neighborhoods; educate shoppers about local produce and cooking; build small businesses and sales for family farmers; as well as creating a vibrant weekly event to build relationships among neighbors and visitors alike. Farmers markets are also on the front line of fighting hunger and improving nutrition by being critical partners in food access programs such as SNAP, SNAP Market Match, the WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.
