Call for WSFMA Board Nominations

The Washington State Farmers Market Association is currently accepting applications for open positions on its Board of Directors. Are you:

• Excited about being part of a dynamic community of farmers market leaders, staff, community members, partners, and advocates?
• Willing to share your skills/experience to build the WSFMA’s organizational capacity to build long-term, targeted, and sustainable programs and member services?
• Able to dedicate 10 -12 hours a month to service: attending board meetings, participating in committee work, and being an ambassador for WSFMA in your community?

Serving on the Board of Directors offers an opportunity to build the success of farmers markets, small acreage direct marketing farmers, and micro-entrepreneurs across the state. Each member of the Board of Directors is responsible for ensuring that the WSFMA fulfills its mission by planning for the future, monitoring current operations, and evaluating the organization, ensuring accountability to all member markets.

We welcome applications from our current and former WSFMA member market leadership (staff, vendors, volunteers, board members), as well as the broader farmers market community and networks! Individuals interested in serving on the WSFMA Board of Directors should review the 2021 WSFMA Board Member Expectations

Applications received by Friday, January 22, 2021 will be considered.

Board candidates are voted on by a representative of each WSFMA member farmers market via electronic ballot no later than the WSFMA Annual Meeting on February 24 or 25, 2021 (date is being confirmed) in conjunction with the WSFMA Conference. Attendance at the annual meeting is recommended, but not mandatory.
