“Farmers Market Boot Camp” for Managers & Board Members

Thursday, February 18, 2021
Thank you!

The Farmers Market Boot Camp is designed for managers and board members who are new to farmers market operations, have changed roles, or simply would like a refresher. This was an opportunity to learn from each other through a lens that engages managers, board members and farmers!

The Farmers Market Boot Camp covered core operational activities from “Pre-Season Prep to Post-Season Thank You’s.” We are taking this time to provide a critical overview of your market’s annual calendar while emphasizing the tools that are available to support your work daily, weekly and throughout the market season. We hope participants left with tools, templates and examples from markets of every size that can be used today to help support our market success!

The 2021 Boot Camp:

🥕  Was led by Amanda Valdez (Auburn Farmers Market), Matt Kelly (Queen Anne Farmers Market), Kara Conner (Shoreline Farmers Market), Colleen Donovan and Caprice Teske (WSFMA);

🥕  Featured a panel of managers and a vendor/former board member from three different farmers markets! Kara Conner (Shoreline FM), Jordan Boldt (Vancouver FM), Deb Stansbery (Wenatchee Valley FM), and Jessica Huerta (Wenatchee Valley FM); and

🥕  Shared resources available from the WSFMA, key partners, and to find help when you need it.

🥕  The recording of Boot Camp will be available to participants via Whova for 6 months. Participants can also download the 2021 Boot Camp Workbook and select presentation slides. Templates and other tools are available from the Washington State Farmers Market Management Toolkit, Chapter 10.
